The 83rd annual Golden Globes took place on Sunday, January 11th, 2026, in Beverly Hills, California.
The Golden Globes honored the year’s best television and films, and for the first time, adding podcasts as a category, subsequently introducing two new major awards to the show.
Comedian Nikki Glaser returned to hosting the 2026 Golden Globes after making her debut as a host last year.
The Beverly Hilton Hotel was packed with nominees, including celebrities like Michael B. Jordan, Timothée Chalamet, and Jessie Buckley, along with presenters such as George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Miley Cyrus, Charli XCX, and more.
Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie, stars of the hit tv show “Heated Rivalry,” were presenters for one of the segments of the Golden Globes, keeping the audience laughing with their jokes.
The daring film “One Battle After Another” won numerous awards, including four for its actors, meanwhile “Adolescence” finished the night on top of its category, best motion picture made for television. “The Secret Agent“ also received several acting awards for the movie with actors like Wagner Moura.
Glaser stole the show with a steady stream of sharp jokes, including, “The Golden Globe for Best Editing goes to the… Justice Department!”
“My favorite part of the Golden Globes was when my favorite actors, Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie, started talking about their favorite shows,” said freshman Raquel Higgins.
When Teyana Taylor took home the award for Best Supporting Actress for “One Battle After Another,” she delivered an emotional, heartfelt, speech.
Taylor’s speech includes “my brown sisters and little brown girls watching tonight, our softness is not a liability, we belong in every room we walk into.” “Taylor did not think she would win.”
Lead actress of “White Lotus” and member of “Blackpink” Lalisa Manobal joined Priyanka Chopra Jonas to announce the winner of Best Performance by a Male Actor in a TV Series.
Owen Cooper, age 16 the young star of “Adolescence,” won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor in a TV Series.
He shared that “joining his school’s drama class was a challenge because he was the only boy there.” He is currently the youngest person to win both a Golden Globe and an Emmy, breaking the record held byAdrien Brody for best actor in 2003 for The Pianist, at age 29.
Chalamet gave a speech when getting his award for Best Actor in a Motion for Musical or Comedy for the movie “Marty Supreme,” and thanking Jevin O’Leary, his co-star in “Marty Supreme,” who rose to fame through “Shark Tank,” and also sent his love to his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner.
Toward the end of the show, Glaser wore a Spinal Tap baseball cap and quoted the 1984 film “This Is Spinal Tap,” saying, “This one goes to eleven,” in a tribute to Rob Reiner, a beloved figure in Hollywood and among movie lovers, who had recently died along with his wife, Michele Reiner.
Even though this year’s Golden Globes reviews overall were mixed. I think the Golden Globes of 2026 can go into the books. With more jokes and fun next year.
