Winter formal is here, and it’s time to chill! On February 7th, 2026, Castaic High School came up with an exciting idea to create a combined dance with Saugus and Valencia High School. The winter formal was held at Saugus High School.
Not only could this be an opportunity to find a new (and possibly soon-to-be-failed) talking stage, but also new friendships.
Combining schools gave many opportunities to students.
“It allows others to meet new people, not just from Castaic, but also from other schools. I think the idea of having multiple school dances helps you branch out and meet other people,” says freshman Colten Adragna.
With many different activities, there came fun and bonding with friends and strangers.
The first room contained three pool tables that had frat boys standing on them (who most likely didn’t understand the concept of pool), along with a karaoke machine (that could blow your ears off).
“The room with karaoke and pool tables was definitely my favorite, because not only can you play a game, but you can also listen to music sung by fellow students.” Says freshman Logan Agayan.
With a short walk to the next room, you’d be shocked with the changes-A dance floor with students moshing, dancing, and even some slow dances, along with delicious food options and candy to gain your energy for the night.
“My favorite room was the dance floor, as they played popular songs along with throwbacks. After each song, the crowd got more excited. The food was a bonus as well,” says sophomore Allan Tchicaya.
Each room was filled with amusement and loud blasting music.
