As students file in the room, Ms. Kelly prepares another day of equations and curiosity. On August 12th, 2025, we welcomed a new face to Castaic High School & William S. Hart Union High School District: Ms. Kelly!
Ms. Kelly is one of many new teachers at Castaic High School, focusing on teaching Algebra I A/B & Geometry. Ms. Kelly has been teaching for over 12 years, only teaching at high schools.
Ms. Kelly’s last teaching position was at a small charter school in Sylmar, California. After her time there, Ms. Kelly was trying to find another side of teaching at another school.
She searched the job board, where she found that Castaic High School was accepting applications for her current position. Then Castaic High School’s principal, Mr. Wobrock, set up an interview and gave her the teaching job for Algebra I A/B & Geometry.
She has always wanted to work in the William S. Hart Union High School District, hearing only good things about the school district and students, where the staff treated you like family no matter who you are.
According to Ms. Kelly, the staff and community treat her “like a family, and has never felt more at home.”
While only in her fifth year of teaching in her own class, Ms. Kelly has become a pillar of the math department. In the classroom, Ms. Kelly approaches fun and accessible activities, trying to break things down for students into small parts so that anyone can understand.
Her teaching style blends in with guided notes and practice, allowing students to move at their own pace and ask the questions when needed.
Besides Algebra and Geometry, Ms. Kelly is going to grow within Castaic High School and the Hart School District.
In the near future, she looks forward to having more projects, math courses, and a strong connection with her students.
Her teaching career proves to be a long commitment to helping the young high school students within Castaic High School.
Judging the excitement she brings to her work every day, it is clear she is a skilled teacher with passion, shaping the classroom in all the right ways.
