CHS Students Share Their New Year’s Resolutions for 2024

CHS Students Share Their New Years Resolutions for 2024

The new year is the perfect time to start fresh and practice healthy habits. It’s easy to list your resolutions and imagine a plethora of goals you’d like to accomplish, but the hard part is actually sticking to them. There’s a lot of pressure in society to overachieve and create goals that are nearly impossible to accomplish. When CHS students were asked if they had ever had a failed new year’s resolution, 14/15 students said yes. So here are five manageable goals that your classmates have set for themselves for 2024…

  1. Try out a new hobby, or practice a current one

“My resolution this year is mainly to try new

instruments and practice more for color guard”

              – Asha Leeb, Freshman

  1. Go to sleep earlier to wake up refreshed

“My resolution is I want to go to sleep earlier so I’m not tired in the morning or at school”

  • Cassandra Garingan, Freshman

  1. Practice self care

“ I really want to focus on self care, loving myself first, and practicing being patient with myself”

  • Peyton Bigelow, Freshman

  1. Stand up for yourself

“ This year I’m really going to try to stand up for myself,  because when I don’t, it has a bad impact on  me”

  • Haylie Mangaccat, Freshman

  1. Focus on getting good grades

“ I’m really going to try to get good grades like A’s and B’s this year and I’m also go to try different thing study methods to see which one works best for me”

  • Alicia Gonzalez, Freshman

  1. Be kinder to people

“My resolution is to be a nicer person and overall just be more       positive”

  • Riona Mapue, Freshman

  1.  Eat whole foods

“ This year I want to eat less processed foods and generally eat healthier”

  • Bella Dasner, Junior

  1. Practice Honesty

“My resolution is to be completely honest with myself and with other people”

  • Hemma Garcia, Sophomore

  1. Stop Procrastination

“I’ve been trying to stop procrastinating so I can get my work done faster”

  • Azul Mancilla Baez, Sophomore

  1.  Get a job

“ I want to get a new job this year because I recently quit my old job and I want to make money again”

  • Taylor Pollard, Senior

The new year can be stressful for many people, but practicing simple daily habits can improve your chances of achieving all your goals for 2024.
