Odessa Blackman is a staff writer and part of the journalism program here at Castaic High School! She has loved writing and reading ever since she was a little kid and even got into journaling during her free time. Odessa aims to become a lawyer and hopes that taking journalism will help with her understanding of law and justice. Although she loves writing, she has never really considered taking it seriously until recently. In high hopes to have some type of future within these fields, she aims to really connect with her readers and write about things that the media doesn’t shine too brightly on, such as teen struggles, mental health, and injustices. She’s always open to writing about brighter topics. During her free time she loves hanging out with friends, improving her sport skills, listening to hours worth of music, watching rom-coms, and taking her time to just really better herself because after all, no one’s perfect.
