Christmas Attractions in Los Angeles County in 2021
December 10, 2021
This year is already coming to an end, and a new one shall take its place. With lots of unexpected twists and turns, December is finally here. Some families are struggling with celebrating when COVID is still a concern. However, there are safer ways to have fun with family and friends while staying mindful of COVID protocols.
Wakefield Court is hosting its annual light show, where people will gather to look at the dazzling lights that people put up around the neighborhood. The hard work these people put into their work is impressive, as the lights are littered around the lawn and hanging above the road held with a long string of lights that illuminate all around. The tradition started in 1994, after the Northridge earthquake. The quake brought everyone together, so as Christmas neared, a couple of families had an idea to string lights across houses as a sign of unity. It grew from there. You can read about this story on a sign in front of a home on Wakefield Court.
Another activity that families can go to for the holidays is the L.A. Zoo Lights event. After the pandemic, the L.A. Zoo is ready to open its doors once more to introduce Christmas time. There are various light displays, activities, and holiday-themed snacks. Children from the age of 12 and older must show proof of vaccination or a negative Covid test for entry. Tickets are $15 for members and are available currently online.
One more event you can follow for this holiday season is the Six Flags Magic Mountain’s Holiday in the Park. Along with the usual setting of Six Flags, this event brings in many colorful lights around the shops and other parts of the park to showcase the festivity in a special way. In fact, with this Christmas event entering the park once more, Santa’s Village makes a return with many old 50’s songs to bring in a classy feel for kids and adults alike. Much like the L.A. Zoo’s confirmation to get in, you must ensure that you have proof of vaccination to enter.
