Fastest Growing Career Paths for the Future

Thinking about the future can seem daunting for high school students, yet will become a pressing question the closer graduation gets. It’s okay not to know right away what area of profession you’re going to enter, but knowing the options available to you is a great way to begin exploring different careers. There are countless professions that people are unaware of until they learn about them and discover a passion for it, so always be open to new possibilities.

The demand and availability of jobs is always changing, and by the time you reach the point in your life where you need to find an area to begin settling in, you have to take those factors into consideration. Be aware that elements like location and economy also influence the availability of your occupation interest. Take a look at this website, which highlights some of the fastest growing jobs for 2020-2030. Nurse practitioners are the highest median pay listed there, with an average salary of $111,680 per year, in 2020, along with a predicted growth of 52%.

Even more so, following along those lines, careers in healthcare are predicted to grow by 16% by the time 2030 rolls around. If the thought of years of post-high school schooling scares you, but a job in the medical field entices you, not every position requires that. For example, a phlebotomist is someone who draws blood from patients. Their schooling only takes a year or less, not as much as some people may believe.

This article also highlights more occupations that will be both high paying and in demand. It mentions data analysts and how they’ve been experiencing a high growth rate of 16% as well. This comes as no surprise, as the more technology based jobs have been skyrocketing in the past few years. The more advanced and involved technology becomes, the more positions can open up, and luckily, there is no sign of slowing down in that industry.

Keeping an open mind to new career possibilities should always be a priority. It’s never too late to explore different profession paths that could end up being your dream job. Not every job requires a college degree, there’s options like trade school as well. Be sure to enjoy your time in high school while it lasts.
