If you have a green thumb and need something to do over the weekends or in the afternoons, then go on over to the Santa Clarita Community Garden! It is a non-profit organization with locally grown, organic foods. You will need to consider using the scheduling and work hours calendar upon arriving though. You can even join one of the gardening committees. If you do want to help with our garden you will first need to become a member.

To become a member you will need to find an available garden plot of your choice at its affordable price and submit a pdf application to Community Gardens Of Santa Clarita. Repeating what I said before, you can come by to visit the gardens at any time on the schedule and ask one of the works. Remember you don’t just get a sense of community you get to say you helped the community. Joining also allows you to make new friends, meet new people. You might even learn something new about yourself!

Looking at our current pandemic, you will need to consider the following rules. Stay home if you are sick, we do not want to help spread any kind of sickness at or around our garden. Wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds or continue to use hand sanitizer. What we don’t want is to get germs or any disease on your or anyone else’s gardening project. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands for the safety of yourself and others. Stay 6 feet away from other people whom you did not arrive with, and cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze to prevent any germs from getting on your own or others’ food.
